Zipped Cash is an incredible son of our late sire Zippos Old Gold. He was purchased by us from a customer that sent him to us to sell as a long yearling. At the time, we certainly did not need a stud colt as Zippos Old Gold was giving us everything we could possibly want in a sire, but I was so moved by this colt that I even had dreams about him. In order to 'shut me up' my husband said we should just buy him. He is the absolute best son of Zippos Old Gold we have ever seen.
He was sent to a trainer during his two year old year and subsequently suffered an injury. I then sent him to a great friend, and trainer that has ridden horses for us since our first foal crop from Zippos Old Gold in hopes that he could rest and rehabilitate him. He did a wonderful job with him and had even got to the point of taking him out to his first show to let him get used to the show environment where he earned a half a point.
After our devastating loss of Zippos Old Gold we decided to bring Cash home and when he stepped off the trailer we were amazed with him. Enough time had gone by and quite honestly we had forgotten just how good this colt truly was. When we put him in the round pen we were spellbound by his natural movement,

I looked back through our old videos to see if we still had the tape of him as a yearling and when I found it, and watched it I knew this was the colt I wanted to continue our breeding program.
Now, as a mature stallion he's breathtaking to me. It never mattered to me that we did not get the show career we wished for him, after all, his sire never had that show career. We have always chosen stallions off conformation and blood, and have owned a few great ones in the last 30+ years.
I have always believed everything happens for a reason, and quite honestly, if Zipped Cash had not been injured and had been shown, someone would have wanted to own him. Because breeding horses is what we do for a living, we would have been inclined to sell him, because that is what we do. So, I believe this colt was meant to be ours, to wait in the sidelines until the time came for him to step up to the challenge of following in his sire's footsteps.
He has perfect conformation, and the added bonus of having withers higher than his hip. We feel if he just breeds himself, he will be a great breeding horse. If he does as his sire, Zippos Old Gold does, and out breeds himself, the future will be amazing and exciting for all. He is great minded and a joy to be around. I know without a doubt that Zipped Cash will make his own mark on the Western Pleasure industry. / Dale Parker
